Closed Captioning works differently on DVD's than on tape. If one has captioning on a videotape when that tape is dubbed to another tape the captioning goes along with it. If one is encoding a videotape with captioning data to make a DVD, the captioning data will not automatically transfer to the disc and work. One needs the original closed captioning file. If you don't have it VSG can fix this too!

For those times where the closed captioning file required during authoring is not available, VSG can strip the closed captioning data from line 21 on your tape, decode it, and turn it into a file that can then be linked in authoring to provide captioning on your DVD's.
